Bay Carnival is a vibrant entertainment company along the Gulf Coast that merges the rich culture of Mardi Gras with the lively vibes of the Caribbean. Bay Carnival was established in 2021 and debuted during the 2022 Mardi Gras celebrations in Mobile, Alabama. The colorful attraction quickly became popular along the Gulf Coast captivating fans from all over. “The Bays” are available for secondline parades, balls, concerts, corporate events, and private parties.
Founder and Executive Director
Terri Nova DeFour
Terri Nova DeFour is a native of Mobile, Alabama who developed a love for Mardi Gras, also known in the city as the Boom Boom at an early age. Being cultivated in this society as a child going to parades and also performing at Mardi Gras in her High School Band, she developed a rich love of this culture along the Gulf Coast. Later in Life, her journey lead her to the beautiful Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago, the birthplace of Carnival, to experience the celebrations firsthand. From 2011-2018 she played Mas with We International, Bliss, and Tribe in the city of Port of Spain. The Carnival vibes as the locals say were “sweet for days,” and she knew that someday she would get the opportunity to introduce Carnival to Mardi Gras and vise versa. Being that both cities are the birthplace of each events, she felt as though it was meant to be—like long lost sisters finding their way back to one another.
Well in 2021, she received a phone call that she would get the opportunity to present her version of the two sisters at the 2022 Port City Secondliner’s Ball in Mobile, Alabama for Mardi Gras. The city welcomed this new concept with open arms and Bay Carnival has been rolling every since.
